How credits work
Instub uses a credit system to track AI usage across your workspace. Credits are consumed when a job runs, with the cost depending on the model used and the size of the input and output.
What a credit is worth
One credit corresponds to roughly one thousand tokens of model input or output — the industry standard unit for measuring language model usage. Different models have different credit costs per token; heavier models cost more per credit than lighter ones.
Where credits come from
Credits are included in your plan. The Trial plan includes 5,000 credits per month. The Team plan starts at 10,000 and scales with your configuration. Additional credits can be purchased at any time from your billing settings.
Seeing your usage
Each job result in Slack includes the credit cost for that run. Your workspace admin can see total usage, usage by member, and usage by model in the workspace settings under Usage & billing.
Per-job credit limits
You can set a per-job credit limit in workspace settings. If a job is about to exceed it, Instub will ask for approval before continuing. This prevents runaway jobs from consuming your monthly allocation unexpectedly.
